Magherfelt District Council operate an alternate week collection throughout the District. Every house in the District has a black bin (Landfill) and blue bin (dry recyclables) which are collected on alternate weeks. 7,500 households also have a brown bin for kitchen and garden organic which is collected on a fortnightly basis. Residents are able to recycle their tetrapak cartons from the kerbside in the blue bin.
