Uplands Community Technology College in Wadhurst, East Sussex won the energy category.

Project Outline

Uplands College's project aimed at educating students, feeder primary school pupils and the local community about why it is important not to waste energy and the importance of using renewable energy more in our daily life.

The college carried out a number of fundraising events to collect money towards a wind turbine. The turbine is used to power a fountain in a courtyard at the college, which has been created by a new building project. This turbine is used to demonstrate renewable energy in practice.
