2007 projects - waste

Firstly, students learnt about different environmental issues. They then looked at what solutions there were to these issues and every student made "green pledges".
In response to these pledges the students wanted to encourage their school and other schools in the area to reduce, reuse and recycle more.
An eco-group was formed and the group designed a competition called "Bling My Bin" where students are asked to design a recycling bin which would encourage teenagers to recycle.
They proposed to also run the competition in local primary schools as well as their own school.
As an enetrprise school, they are also looking to work with businesses to produce the winning bin design, and aim to involve local press and other schools to publicise the competition.
Finally, the students planned to involve local media to promote awarness to the local community as well.
