The Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation (Alupro) is responsible for encouraging and developing recycling collection initiatives, consumer education, and representing the aluminium packaging industry to government. The education area of this website gives some useful tips on how to recycle aluminium cans in schools and details some case studies.
Glass:
British Glass
British Glass is the organisation supporting the glass industry. There is useful information on the history of glass and glass recycling in the UK.
Recycling Glass
A fun and interactive website where you can learn all about recycling glass. There are games for children and a section for teachers where you can order a free CD-ROM.
Plastics:
RECOUP
Recoup help promote and make possible the recycling of plastic containers. The education section gives information on why we use plastic bottles and, provides some uses for recycled plastic bottles.
Recovery & Recycling:
Energy from Waste
The Energy from Waste Association website gives some background on how and why we burn rubbish. There is not a specific education section, but older children will find the background information useful. Please note that this website is currently under repair, but will be functioning again soon.

Steel Can Recycling Information Bureau (SCRIB)
SCRIB are the Steel Can Recycling Information Bureau. Aimed primarily at the public, children and teachers SCRIB's newly revamped website is packed with interesting facts and figures on steel
packaging recycling, downloadable resources, as well as an interactive quiz and an animated film describing the recycling process.
