Plastic bottle tops recycling

I understand that in RADCLIFFE near BURY there is a lady who collects plastic milk bottle tops in support of Help for Heroes. Sorry, but I do not have any contact details - maybe if you contact H4H direct they could give more info.

Plastic milk bottle tops

There is a charity in SOMERSET that collects plastic bottle tops for recycling. The tops MUST be CLEAN and have all inserts removed. The organisation is Project Romania in CHARD and the link to the relevant page on their website is http://www.projectromaniachard.org.uk/goinggreen.php A company that recycles plastic bottle tops is GHS Recycling Ltd.

Plastic Milk Bottle Tops

We recently collected milk bottle tops for a young child that needed a wheelchair. He was asked to collect his body weight in tops and they would provide a wheelchair. We have achieved this now. Does anyone know of anywhere or anyone in the Lancashire area that is collecting them for anything?

Plastic milk bottles green caps/lids

At my work a staff sent a flier saying that all staff please collect plastic milk bottle green caps/lids as needed by as an individual dealer in selling wheel chairs for disable will donate a wheelchair free to this individual if he collects these caps/lids in certain amount - I do not remember what was this amount and then this staff who requested us to collect left the job unannounced hence some of these caps/lids were thrown away as they in the way, some depts. are still saving them. I am in the Preston/Blackburn area in Lancashire. I would like to know if there is another charity or an offer which gives an incentive to consumers to save to help a charity or an individual who is going to benefit from it. The local council refused to recycle this kind of plastic and instructs the consumer to discard these caps/lids from the council recycle bins. I do not know why we in Britain the local council recycle department says we cannot recycle this plastic while any individuals out there must have watched a programme recently televised on TV showing one of British House building Architecture went to India in Mumbai to a slum neighbourhood called BHAIRVI and it showed in the programme and this guy was amazed that in India which is a third world country coming up high in its economy can recycle anything and nothing is left to waste. If India can do it why in Britain we cannot? This is a shame on Britain and a discredit to nation which shows that we are a developed a westernised country with high know how in science and technology and IT too and we cannot recycle plastic milk bottle caps/lids. I think the government/environment dept should take/look interest in this side of recycling.

Plastic bottle tops please! I collect..

I am an artist living in london and collecting plastic bottle tops. I want to make large scale sculptures and installations. Please help me by sending me your bottle tops, (I can pay postage) and helping me make art which will save all of this waste going to landfill and educate people about the extent of our everyday habits on the environment. the post above is very informative and if you do your research aluminium will fetch £550 a tonne rather than £25 a tonne for milk tops so hopefully I wont be stepping on any charities toes by making this appeal. please contact me Vicky-martin@hotmail.com bottletops@live.co.uk thank you X

FROM DR.DONATUS ONYEUKWU. BILL & EXCHANGE MANAGER/ AUDITING. UNION TOGOLAISE BANQUE(UTB). LOME-TOGO WEST AFRICA. Tel:+228-082-8355. Our Ref: UTB/TG/L-22T-4/12/2009 Contact Mail Address: maeklawchambers@live.fr My Dear Friend, I am the bill and exchange manager at FOREIGN REMITTANCE DEPT,In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of U.S $10.5million US dollars, TEN MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND UNITED STATES DOLLARS in an account that belonged to one of our foreign customers who died along with his entire family in a plane crash. Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or a business associate to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines and laws, but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim. It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you so that the bank can release the money to you as the next of kin or a business associate to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and I don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill. Since the bank law and guideline here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after Six years the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Burkinabe cannot stand as next of kin. I agree that 50% of this money will be for you as a foreign partner, in respect to the provision of a foreign account, and 50% would be for me and my Family. There after I and my Family will visit your country for disbursement according to the percentages indicated and for some possible investment under your kind control. Therefore, to enable the immediate transfer of this fund to you as arranged, you must apply first to the bank as a business associate or next of kin of the deceased person. Please i will like this transaction to be strictly between you and i Upon receipt of your reply, I will start by giving to you the application which you will fill and send to the bank. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer and given your 100% full assurance and risk free transaction. Therefore, to enable the immediate transfer of this fund to you as arranged, you must apply first to the bank as a business associate or next of kin of the deceased person. I will like you to send me the following informations. Name............................? Your Country..............................? Occupation...........................? Age..................................? Your Marital Status.......................? Your Personal Fax N°.......................? Your Personal Mobile N°....................? Your Sex..................................? Get back to me immediately with those informations i need from you so that i will send you the text of application which you will fill and apply to the bank as the next of kin. Trusting to hear from you immediately, Yours faithfully. DR.DONATUS ONYEUKWU.

help protect the environment & your health!

stop using plastic bottles! Plastic is not a biodegradable material , it takes more then 400 years for a single soft drink bottle to decompose. Furthermore, Plastic soft drink bottles contain BPA which is hazardous to our health. more info here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HObPhkwO3eo

Plastic Milk Bottle Tops

Unfortunately Naomi House no longer take on these tops as our company have been supplying them. They are not cost effective as far as Naomi House are concerned which is a shame. We know that the plastic can be recycled but it is impossible to find anywhere else that take them. They should not end up in landfills its a waste.

Plastic Milk Bottle Tops

GHS Recycling in Portsmouth used to take them for Naomi House which is I think the collection that most people have heard about. If you put GHS Recycling into Google you will get interesting info on the relationship between the recycler and the charity/fundraiser. Rose Road is another charity that has been mentioned (Hampshire again). There is also the Solent Therapy Centre who the Catholic Church of Fareham and Portchester Ecology Group are collecting them for (8 October 2006). Hampshire again. I don't think that these are worth very much in recycling terms. It is a good way of getting people involved with something that it is easy to collect and which otherwise would end up in landfill. I think that what is also important in collecting them is that by collecting just clean milk bottle ones you will have probably done all the sorting necessary so as not to have a contaminated collection. (The reason for most councils wanting bottles and not lids seems to be that many (not all) are made of plastic different to the bottle and so this helps in the sorting of the different types - and it is easier to squash them for baling as so many people are so lazzzzzzzzzzzzzy.) From reading all the info on the web regarding hoaxes and how worthless these tops are and how much better it would be to collect something else - from people who probably just talk about it and in actual fact do nothing - it looks as though you CAN do this but you could probably make more money for charity in another way. However there is nothing more satisfying than making money out of rubbish especially if it will also help the environment in some way - and it may well lead on to something else for you and any others involved.
