Good to see some avocadoes from Tescos packed on thin rPET trays. (Recycled PET) But can we recycle them? Sadly in many cases no because the stipulation is still bottles. Identify plastic with large signs until the magic sorting machines take over!

Take a look at the new downloadable plastics identification chart on the moving news on the front page of this website. However what we are not told is whether we can recycle all the clearly marked PET 1 containers (not bottles).

These are the types that will be sorted out of a 'Mixed Plastics Collection' to be recycled as well.
Some of the rest may be recycled abroad and some incinerated. IF this is to make energy then it may be considered better than just landfilling it.
