Don't know whereabouts in the county you live - but Macclesfield Borough Council collect them at their tip on Congleton Road.

hmmmm 

i have not found helpful recycling so far , d "difficult " items usualy end up in general waste bin . . . ill ask at B+Q

I presume you mean ordinary household batteries. 

If that is the case, I take mine to my local supermarket or DIY store (I think B&Q used to do this?). Also, if you check on the recycling bank locator you may be able to find your nearest council household waste site that recycles batteries.
