Plastic Milk Bottle Tops??
Does anyone know if there is any charity or organisation that would like the plastic tops from milk bottles? I have been collecting the tops for a school in Cornwall who were helping some children to get wheelchairs to use they have received 4 wheelchairs but no longer require anymore help. This seems such a worthwhile thing to do and I and the local schools would like to see if you can help anyone else get money to buy things for children in schools or any organisation, but I am at a loss as to where I can obtain any information as to who would be interested in collecting milk bottle tops. PLEASE HELP ME FIND SOMEWHERE

Having the same problem and would love to recycle more tops for chairty. The only suggestion is to get the details from the group where you gave the tops to get wheelchairs.

This is a good question. One national recycling orgnasation you could try is Recoup, who deal specifically in recycling plastics. You can send them an e-mail on enquiry@recoup.org or check out thier site: www.recoup.org
Hope this helps.

Not many places take plastic bottle tops as you would need to collect an enormous amount to make it viable to collect them. Also, I don't know that collecting the tops for wheelchairs is really such a good idea. I've heard of people trying to get wheelchairs this way but they then can't find the scheme to take the tops away. I saw something about it in the FAQs on www.plasticsrecycling.info. Might be worth having a look?

I don't know of any organisations - but does your local council not allow them in their kerbside scheme? Sometimes you can put plastic bottle tops loose into kerbside bags (for exaple Sevenoaks District Council allow this.)
