In 2023, Valpak partnered with trailblazing schools’ campaign provider WasteBuster to charge up battery recycling in schools.
We want to share the importance of recycling used household batteries and the damaging effects it can have on the environment if not correctly disposed of.
Wastebuster’s Recycle to Read initiative encourages schools to collect and recycle old batteries in exchange for books. Upon signing up, each school will receive a battery collection box, along with a comprehensive campaign guide, assembly materials, posters, parent mail templates, and curriculum-linked resources. These resources are designed to assist you in making your campaign both successful and rewarding.
With over 400 schools already signed up, find out more information and how your nursery, primary or junior school can take part.
